This week we, at our home, have been making a lot of choices. Choices NOT to spend money. Choices to go to the library instead of the Redbox rental kiosk. Choices to play games together. Choices to GIVE AWAY clothing that we no longer need. Choices to eat from our pantry. Choices to make some long overdue phone calls. Choices to rest. Choices to make it homemade. Choices to cuddle. Choices to be thankful. Choices to trust that God's promises are true.
Life is surely all about choices, isn't it? What motivates your choices?
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. - James 1:17
Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.
- I Cor. 4:2
Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God.
Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. - Luke 12:6-7
Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.” - Mark 12: 41-44
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning, new mercies I see. All I have needed, Thy Hand hath provided. Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me. - Thomas Chisholm
