Do you know those sugar cookies in the store with frosting and sprinkles? The really soft ones? Well, this recipe is the closest that I've found...and boy, they are YUMMY!
Rolled Sugar Cookies
Cream together in large mixer:
1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
Then add (mixing well):
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla
1 t. lemon juice
Add the following dry ingredients, mixing well:
4 c. flour
1/2 t. salt
1 t. baking powder
1 t. baking soda
Add to dough:
4-6 T. milk
Roll out dough on a floured surface (1/2" to 3/4" thickness) and cut in desired shapes.
Bake at 375-400 for 8-10 minutes.
Ice with your favorite frosting and sprinkles!
